McLean's Martial Art
McLean's martial Art was first established in 1985, in Sydney New South Wales Australia , Martial Arts teaches and promotes confidence, self esteem, better well being , Self confidence , self disciple .Encouraging group interaction. There is an emphasis on self defence and co-ordination. It is a great way to meet people in a club and family environment.
Mclean's Martial Art is based on the old and new traditional Korean and Chinese disciplines in the martial arts . combining Taekwondo , hapkido , Wing Chun , Thai Boxing , Western Boxing , karate. Thai elbow striking skills.
this school also incorporates Stamina and Endurance routines for those who are looking for that more extreme push in a martial art school and who are looking wanting to enter competitions.
Meet Our Founder
The founder and head instructor of McLean's Martial Artis Raymond Mclean commenced his training in the martial art from the age of 8 , born in 1958, he trained by his master GM Fu Chang Hi in his martial art of CHI KI DO KARATE , when broken ( Chi - external engery , Ki up meant the way of the external and internal strength. Ray trained with him as his only student 7 days a week for 22 years where I reached the rank of 3rd dan back belt in March 1988 , then in 2009 after 3 days & 8 hours who I was assessed by a panel of 6 masters from the Chinese Martial Arts Associations testing my skills I was finally graded to the rank of 6th dan black belt in China, During those many years of training under Fu Chang Hi , I was also training in the Korean martial arts for a total of 12 years where I obtained black belt rankings , I then started training in the art of Wing Chun Kung Fu under the guidance of Gregory Tsio Choy( Greg Choy) , who was a friend of Bruce Lee and GM William Cheung and the Chief instructor for Gm Ipman .
On March 15th 1985 I then opened the doors for the first time and started to teach McLean's Martial Art , I design my style mainly for the purpose of teaching people proper effective self defence skills, I also included the skills of stamina and endurance conditioning not only for fitness reasons but also for those who wish to enter competitions and for self defence purposes. I entered a total of 15 competitions and out of that 15 I won 9 mostly in patterns/kata/forms and this is where I found that the longer I kept moving up the ladder the more exhausted I became this included when performing patterns/kata /forms. The more conditioning was needed and so over the years of developing this style I designed a method to improve these 2 skills.
